Instructions for Ceiling Fixtures:

Your Tiffany Style Ceiling Fixture has been handcrafted using the methods first developed by Louis Comfort Tiffany at the turn of the century (1900). Each piece of stained glass is hand-cut, wrapped with a fine copper foil, and then soldered together with the other pieces of glass. Top-quality US-made stained glass has been used in the crafting of this shade.

Please note that due to the nature of stained glass, each piece of glass in your shade will vary in color and texture. This is part of the appeal of Tiffany Style lamps: each one is a unique, one-of-a-kind piece of art to be treasured for a lifetime.

Prior to Use:

Upon removing your Shade from its packaging, you may find a coat of oil on the shade (oil is used in the final stage of production to protect the shade's soldering). To remove the oil, place the shade on a smooth, flat surface (be sure to place a towel on any furniture to prevent scratching). Using a paper towel, gently buff the inside and outside of the shade, turning the towel frequently. DO NOT USE CHEMICAL CLEANSERS AS THEY MAY HARM THE SOLDERING'S FINISH.

Cleaning and Care:

To clean the shade, remove dust with either a paper towel or a duster. No household cleaners are needed. Occasionally, a white powder may appear on the shade's soldering as a result of natural oxidation. To restore the soldering to its original condition, apply a small amount of Lemon or Mineral Oil to the affected area. Remove the oil with a paper towel as described in the "Prior to Use" section. DO NOT USE CHEMICAL CLEANSERS, AS THEY MAY HARM THE SOLDERINGS FINISH.

Warning!

If your Ceiling Fixture has been lighted for a period of time, the shade will become hot and may burn if touched. Allow the shade to cool for a period of time, testing it carefully prior to grasping it.

Installation:

We recommend that a Certified, Professional Electrician be used in the installation of your ceiling fixture. Instructions for the proper installation of your ceiling fixture can be found below.
